Environment Canada warns B.C.’s South Coast about upcoming snow and rainfall as a storm heads towards them.
They expect heavy rain on most of the Lower Mainland on Wednesday evening and up to 8 cm of rainfall in areas near the mountains on Thursday night.
They believe it is a slow moving storm, indicating that it will bring on more precipitation than our average winter storm.
The worst of the precipitation is predicted to impact Vancouver Island with the possibility to see more than 15 cm of rain.
Environment Canada warns that we may see lots of snow accumulations around Squamish and Whistler before the snow transitions into rain.
Drivers are being warned to prepare for the quickly changing conditions.
Snow is also expected to fall up to 35 cm over the Coquihalla Highway by late Thursday.
