During a traffic stoplight, an RCMP officer was dragged by a suspect vehicle which resulted in severe injuries.
The officer was investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle and stopped a car around No. 3 Road and Steveston Highway on Sunday morning around 9:30 a.m.
Upon approaching the vehicle on foot, the officer was dragged by the vehicle after it sped away. This resulted in significant injuries, but the officer is expected to make a full recovery after being transported to Vancouver General Hospital.
The suspect vehicle was described to be a dark, late modeled Mercedes-Benz sedan and is believed to have a black interior and tinted windows. There may also be some possible damage in the windshield.
